It’s lunchtime here at work and thought I’d take a moment to jot down some thoughts while I eat here at my desk. While it’s April and one might expect spring weather, Illinois had a huge snow storm yesterday covering everything in white. I guess winter just wanted one last hurrah. So, during this lunch break, I decided to keep warm by staying inside and enjoying some hot and tasty vegetable soup.
There are a lot of big events happening in both Amber’s and my life at the moment. Amber and I bought our first house, we’re starting to think about having children and it’s almost our one-year anniversary.
With all of these events happening, I periodically am struck with joyful amazement that I actually got to this point in my life. It doesn’t seem like that long ago when I was fresh out of college, disgruntled and confused at what to do next. I look back at my journal entries during those times and, while passion-filled and evocative, they definitely had a depressive and sometimes angry tone.
I am just thankful to God for what he has done in my life and where he has brought me. I am excited about what he has in store for us, while committed to faithfully serving him and his people where he currently has placed me.
Now I’m all warm and toasty inside ??? from both my thoughts of thankfulness and from my vegetable soup.
